SPRING CALVING COWS IN DEMAND ON OPEN DAY, SUNDAY AUGUST 28th 2016

Posted by theresa on August 30, 2016

High Spa has a well established annual Spring Open Day held on the last Sunday of each August. Gates opened at 9.30 am at our Daylesford open day/sale venue on Sunday August 28th to help breeders cater for their spring calving herds

The weather was a pleasant late winter’s day, with sun peeking through later in the afternoon.  So there was a definite promise of spring in the air and of the green, surrounding pastures preparing to move well soon.

We were pleased to accommodate the current, encouraging demand for spring calving females and had a total clearance of the PTIC mixed age cows on offer.  The performance recorded cows were both AI and paddock joined and they will have calves on the ground at their new homes from late September into October ‘16.  Congratulations to the purchasers.

Some 2015 spring born yearling bulls will also go soon to new homes along with some of their older peers from the same year.  Breeders who are also keen to secure a bull for joining at the end of this year are encouraged to inquire and select their bulls now.

A lucky gate prize of product, generously sponsored by Merial, this spring went to Angus breeders at Sunbury.  Congratulations Austin and Madeleine.  We extend many thanks to Merial for their continued support of our open day and our open day visitors.
